School Address:  Claravall St., San Vicente, Ilagan, Isabela
Visited Date:  December 11, 2014
Grade / Year Level:  Fourth Year Ilang-ilang
Subject Area:  Mathematics
Teacher’s Learning Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the students shall be able to:
     a. define the unit circle and the circular functions of ɵ in any quadrant in terms of x, y and r.
     b. find the circular functions of ɵ with respect to the unit circle.
     c. graph the unit circle.
Desired conditions and criterion levels of the learning objectives:

The learning objectives set by the teacher guides the flow of the discussion and the way she executes the method of assessment. It serves as a guideline upon conducting an activity for a better understanding of the topic. The students were able to understand the lesson as the teacher lets them use their skills in analysis and perform it with themselves as the discussion goes on – providing supplementation when needed.
Other notes:

It is important to use appropriate methods and strategies that would help achieve effectively the supposed learning outcome. To make the learning more progressive, the teacher must let the students work with themselves to see how well they apply what they have acquired during the discussion.

ANALYSIS:

1.   Do you think the teacher’s learning objectives was appropriately assessed by your test items?

Yes, I think the teacher’s learning objectives was appropriately assessed by the test items. The test items were constructed based on their discussion about the unit circle and the circular functions.

2.   Why do you have to study the teacher’s learning objectives prior to developing an assessment tool?

Studying the teacher’s learning objectives prior to developing an assessment tool is of utmost importance. Since assessment tools check the understanding of students, we need to make sure that the assessment tool being used is connected to the teacher’s prepared set of objectives. We can only say that the learning outcome is validly assessed if the assessment measures what it intends to measure. The alignment of the learning objectives with the assessment tool assures the accuracy of the assessment used.

REFLECTION:

Write your personal reflection of thoughts and feelings regarding Peace Concept on Focus. Share your reflection with your FS teacher and classmates.

PEACE CONCEPT ON FOCUS

Learning is an active process which requires the learner to work with and apply what they have acquired to their everyday life with the teacher playing the major role as information deliverer and environment controller.

A classroom that is free from distractions and is well-managed by the teacher-in-charge can create an environment that is conducive to learning. It promotes focus and interest which can encourage students to perform well inside the classroom.

A student’s performance depends on the environment that he/she’s working on. Improvement in performance will be visible if the teacher can successfully create a healthy psychological climate in learning and a peaceful classroom atmosphere. There is mutual respect and better understanding of the diverse learners in the teaching-learning process resulting for a more effective learning outcome.

The teacher will be able to choose the most appropriate and effective methods and strategies in teaching and assessing the learner in the learning process when there’s peace concept on focus.
